Dr. Roddan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organic Chemistry from La Verne University and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy. Dr. Roddan holds a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University, College of Law. She is admitted to practice both as a pharmacist and as an attorney in the state of California. In addition, she is a Patent Attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Roddan is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Southern California where she teaches pharmacy law. Her areas of emphasis are the Good Manufacturing Practices Act, Good Clinical Practices Act, how to submit an IND to FDA, the importance of the Federal patent and trademark laws to the practice of pharmacy, California’s Titles 16 and 22 and the standards required for the Joint Committee on the Accreditation of Hospitals.
She interned at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, was the Manager of Pharmacy Affairs, for Riker (3M) Pharmaceuticals and was a Medical Therapeutics Liaison for Sanofi-Synthelabo pharmaceuticals.
She was the founder and president of her own FDA and Board of Pharmacy licensed manufacturing and managed-care operation for which she was the recipient of the 1988 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award given by Arthur Young and Venture magazine.
While a student at the University of Southern California, she was a recipient of the Emory Thurston award for excellence in professional endeavors. In addition, the Speaker of the Assembly appointed her to serve on the Duffy (HR-21) Commission. The charge of that committee was to draft legislative recommendations to expand the role of the pharmacist. She was a recipient of the Woman of the Year award for Women in Pharmacy. In 1997 and 1998 she chaired the Title 22 Committee and served on the Public Relations Committee for the California Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. Her additional professional contributions are listed in Who’s Who in the West.
Dr. Roddan has been a real estate investor for over 30 years. She has owned and managed several Manufactured Home Communities in Arizona and Oklahoma. She is also the major design and management influence in The Home Fabulizers.
Mr. Allison C. (Al) Roddan is an independent real estate investor specializing in multiple unit residential properties. He is also President and CEO of The PROTEK Group, Inc., a consulting company providing property rehabilitation and management. Mr. Roddan is a Certified Manufactured Home Community Manager, and specializes in developing new properties and turning around troubled properties. Throughout the years he has continuously owned and managed a portfolio of multiple unit residential properties. Mr. Roddan began managing his first apartment complex when he was a 20-year-old college student.
Over the past 35 years, Mr. Roddan has also held various management positions in the environmental instrumentation industry. While Automotive Business Unit Manager for the Process Management Group of Fortune 500’s Emerson Electric Co., he managed double digit operating budgets and directed the world wide growth in Emerson’s automotive vehicle emissions monitor business for over 13 years. Emerson is a leader in the Industrial Instrumentation Industry (SIC 382) with global sales in excess of $15 billion.
Prior to joining Emerson, Mr. Roddan was Chief Operations Officer and General Manager of Entel Laboratories. At Entel, Mr. Roddan was responsible for the day to day operation of a fully equipped vehicle exhaust emissions laboratory, providing testing services for major auto manufacturers, and state and federal environmental agencies.
During his tenure in industry, Mr. Roddan’s management responsibilities included the development and management of business plans, forecasts and budgets, along with the management of personnel and consultants during the implementation of such plans.
Mr. Roddan also has extensive experience in the field of science and engineering. He has had management and technical responsibility for the development of medical, clinical and scientific instruments for such companies as American Hospital Supply Corp., Beckman Instruments, Inc., and General Monitors, Inc. His technical competencies include infrared and ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy, electrochemical, chemiluminescence, flame ionization detection of gases, and system integration involving computers and communication networks.
Mr. Roddan has published several technical papers on instrumentation, and was the Director of the Automotive Division of the Instrument Society of America. He was a guest lecturer at California State University, Fresno, and California State Polytechnic University, San Louis Obispo, California. Mr. Roddan holds several patents on computer related products.
Mr. Allison Roddan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, specializing in Electronics, from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California. In addition, Mr. Roddan has undertaken advanced studies in Engineering and Business Management at the California State University, Fullerton, California and at the University of California, Irvine, California. During his years at Cal Poly, Mr. Roddan pursued his interest in communications and electro-optical systems, and received several academic honors. He was also Vice President of his graduating class.
